Clearing the Land
Today we began clearing the land. Adam Drake did the work. Just like his father, Kenny, Adam is a master with a backhoe. We told him to save the trees and he was able to spot every little sapling and maneuver the machine around it. We are almost ready to stake out the house.

The Site
This is our building site in the Weimer subdivision in the town of Taos. The view is looking North toward Taos Mountain.
The Crew
These are the carpenters who will be building our house. On the left is Ivan, Ivy is in the center and that's me on the right.Ivy is the co owner of the Salamander Co.
Ivan and I have been working for the company since it was started in 2001.

Our Plans
Here is the first draft of our plans. Our South side will have a sunroom to capture heat and a clear story to bring in lots of light.
